Spire Credit Union — Pine City, MN
Originally built as a Hardee’s fast food restaurant, the Pine City, MN branch of Spire Credit Union needed a face-lift. The original conversion — completed years before — had been fairly minimal, and the layout of the restaurant-turned-bank didn’t make much sense. Overall, it was a tired, dated environment for credit union members. Moreover, a portion of the building had been leased out had to be absorbed into the credit union. With the need for a robust design overhaul, Spire turned to PlanForce.
The interior redesign dramatically opened up the space, removing the previous sense of compartmentalization. With two separate lounge areas, glass-lined offices, and re-clad teller lines, the new design brings a breath of fresh air. Above each teller station is a new custom lighting cloud, which creates a sense of space. The new look is much brighter and more open, while walnut trim and finishes help retain a sense of tradition and reliability so important to credit union members.
The transformation took a bit longer than normal to ensure the Pine City branch could stay open throughout the remodel. To meet the needs of members while implementing such an impactful modernization, PlanForce helped phase the project construction. The now fully-redesigned space provides Spire with an open, contemporary look that will serve the credit union and their members for years to come.
