PowerObjects — Minneapolis, MN
Update: PowerObjects space was featured in the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal as a Cool Office.
PowerObjects, a leader in delivering enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) applications using Microsoft Dynamics 365, has grown more than 2,600% since 2009. As you can imagine, finding space for all the new employees has been an ongoing—and increasingly difficult—challenge.
With even more growth projected over the coming years, PowerObjects turned to PlanForce to design a new 20,000 square foot office expansion on the eighth floor of the TractorWorks building in the trendy Minneapolis North Loop neighborhood. The new space melds the building’s industrial shell with a contemporary office interior design, including more than 200 hanging acoustical panels and modern branding.
PlanForce Group’s design for the office puts collaboration at the forefront. Team breakout areas include video conferencing technology and full-wall whiteboards surrounded by couches and high-top bars for informal team work. In addition, numerous huddle rooms and more formal conference rooms are consistently utilized by PowerObjects teams to increase productivity and meet client goals.
“Everyone in this space is really happy. They like being in this office, they like the feel of it,” says Jeff Wedren, PowerObjects’ AVP of Global Marketing. That excitement is due in part to the natural light that suffuses the space, creating a bright, upbeat work environment. It’s also due to the flexibility built into the office design, which include movable desks and a variety of places to sit and collaborate. “It’s given them more enthusiasm for being at their desks.”
Wedren couldn’t be happier with the end results — and the experience of working with PlanForce. “For me it was a great experience to come into this raw space and be able to have a vision and get it done. That was really cool.”

Creating an Experience for Clients
In fact, PowerObjects is so happy with the new office expansion that they’ve asked PlanForce to help redesign their client-facing offices, too. Wedren says that the staff in the existing office space have been downright envious of the new office design and want their space upgraded to match. Work has already begun to design an exciting new client experience in the company’s main office in the SoHo building down the block.
“We’re going to do some cool things over there now,” says Wedren.
