Position

Interior Designer 1

Full-time, Salaried plus Benefits
St. Louis Park, Minnesota

PlanForce is seeking a creative and dynamic Interior Designer 1 to join our mission to use the Power of Design to help people and businesses thrive. We are an employee-owned firm based in Minneapolis with a broad client base spanning from corporate office to industrial to restaurants. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is passionate about design.
The ideal candidate will help grow PlanForce with their passion for design, innovation and technical skills.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with both Interiors + Architecture teams to create and develop all phases of a
    project:
    o Programming
    o Schematic Design/Fit Plans
    o Design Development
    o Construction Documents
    o Construction Administration
  • Draft, render and/or document designs to communicate effectively and efficiently with
    clients
  • Create finish schemes and materials selections for projects
  • Assist with furniture selection and procurement, as dictated by project scope
  • Investigate and document all products, details and construction systems as set by Project
    Manager
  • Build strong client, consultant, and vendor relationships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • 3+ years of related experience in interior design (commercial design related experience is
    preferred).
  • NCIDQ accreditation (or working towards)
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation is highly valued.
  • Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and rendering/3D
    software.
  • Strong design skills, including hand sketching
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills, including the flexibility to deal with many
    projects of varying sizes at one time.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, plus a strong ability to carefully
    listen to clients and clearly understand their needs.
  • Collaborative, adaptive and energetic with positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of code requirements.

Position

Architect I

Full time, Salaried plus Benefits

PlanForce is seeking a creative and dynamic Architect to join our mission to use the Power of Design to help people and businesses thrive. We are an employee-owned firm based in Minneapolis with a broad client base spanning from corporate office to industrial to restaurants. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is passionate about design. This candidate should possess a willingness to dive into challenges and an interest in helping clients transform business goals into extraordinary buildings and spaces.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality design concepts and develop solutions for complex projects.
  • Responsible for the production, oversight, and coordination of projects and drawings with clients, consultants, and staff.
  • Work closely with architects, interior designers, and technical designers across the firm to promote a collaborative design approach as well as provide guidance to junior staff.
  • Manage projects including scope, schedule, fees, quality, and construction administration.
  • Broad knowledge base of codes and building construction.
  • Build, maintain, and grow client and strategic partner relationships through excellent communication and responsive client service.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university
  • Professional registered architect in the state of Minnesota
  • 5+ years of related experience in an architecture firm
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and SketchUp
  • Flexibility to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Background in commercial office, restaurant, industrial, retail, or adaptive reuse is a plus
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation is highly valued
