MIROMATRIX — EDEN PRAIRIE, MN
MiroMatrix has a mission to eliminate the organ transplant waitlist by pioneering novel technology to create fully transplantable human organs. When they outgrew their laboratory and office space designed by PlanForce in 2014, they called on PlanForce again to design their new Eden Prairie location. The new MiroMatrix space needed to:
- Improve departmental efficiencies
- Foster team collaboration
- Optimize cleanroom design
- Promote returning to office post-COVID
Working with Greiner Construction, PlanForce completed the interior architecture and design for the 42,000 square foot space, including 14,383 square feet of clean rooms. The clean rooms utilized 5 stepdown pressure zones, central one-way circulation, isolated utility, wash and blood rooms, ducted returns, and med-gas distribution.
The PlanForce team worked closely with the MiroMatrix team to ensure each part of the design would serve them well. From planning meetings for the cleanrooms to designing a lively office that reflects the energetic MiroMatrix team, PlanForce worked to ensure each element would work well for MiroMatrix’s vision. When the original budget was reduced, Elizabeth Lari, CID, and Lindsay Meyer, WELL AP guided design decisions to ensure the project met the original design intent and the new budget. The result is a vibrant space that helps MiroMatrix work towards their goal of eliminating the organ transplant waitlist!
