Cox Insurance › Falcon Heights, MN
PlanForce helped Cox Insurance improve operations, image, visibility, and increase the value of their building with a new design that reflects the warmth of the company’s approach to business.
Cox Insurance, an independent, family owned insurance agency, has been protecting clients from life’s adversities for more than 60 years. Their 15,000 square foot offices in Falcon Heights, MN, reflects the warmth of the company’s approach to business. An interesting exterior shape helps this typical office box structure to stand out from surrounding buildings. The interior was designed to showcase some of the pottery created by owner and noted artist Rick Cox. Warm wood textures and an abundance of sunlight help to create an office interior that is warm and inviting.
This creative space includes unique architectural elements—such as warehouse doors—that were found/scavenged by Cox and concrete window sills that Cox hand-poured and embedded with manufacturing artifacts like wrenches.
Located in a state-of-the-art building near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, the Cox Insurance office has an open floor plan, three conference rooms, and a fireside lounge that encourages a collaborative work environment. They also have a community café that is used as a breakroom and gathering space for team lunches, events, and meetings. The mixed-use building also hosts a community art gallery, retail flower shop, law office, and two small business tenants.
“The office was a true collaboration. It was designed as much by Rick and his sons as it was by us.”
