Good design is all about the ability to stimulate human conscience.
As a Design Technician and BIM manager with PlanForce, Shawn has worked on a wide variety of industrial and office projects, developing a well-earned reputation for his responsiveness and attention to detail. He has been instrumental in helping the firm implement the latest three-dimensional modeling and design tools, which automate schedule building, helping to reduce human error and better meet client budgets. He holds degrees in Architecture from both the University of Minnesota and Hennepin Technical College.
Shawn is particularly interested in the role that design plays in society—the way design is shaped and perceived by the general public. The drive behind his work is learning how people use their surroundings. And, using design, Shawn solves problems and strives to create connective, welcoming, enjoyable environments.
When not in the office, Shawn can be found exploring the Twin Cities metro area with his family. They especially like visiting the older downtowns that are thriving, such as Stillwater and neighborhoods around White Bear Lake, Summit and Grand Avenue in St. Paul, or neighborhoods around Lake of the Isles. If you see him about town, he’ll probably be sipping a Grainbelt Nordeast and, during the summer, enjoying drum and bugle corps shows. Be sure to stop and say hello!
